Baby Games for 6 months old (Let's go for a ride)

Difficulty: 3/5

Development Goal: Enhances baby's movement physical ability. This game allows baby to engage in massive body movements and will develop baby's body motor ability comprehensively.
Personality Goal: Increases baby's IQ and allows him to adapt into different surroundings easily.
Preparation: After bath or anytime when baby is in a good mood.
How to play: Lay baby on the floor or on the mat, face up, and hold his ankle. Move baby's legs up and down as if baby is riding a bicycle. Then look into his eyes and say, "We are going for a ride!". Repeat the steps a few times. This game can be played while applying lotion and massaging for baby after his bath or after changing his diapers. It would be more effective this way.
Daddy’s participation: Daddy can kiss, hug or stroke baby to allow baby to feel the love from Daddy. Do praise, encourage and smile more often.

Baby Games for 6 months old (My face is up, my face is down)

Difficulty: 2/5

Development Goal: Stimulates baby's visuals.
Personality Goal: Parents must let baby look more, listen more and have more physical contacts with objects. Only then, your baby can accumulate rich knowledge, which will train your baby to react to situations and find out solutions within the shortest time.
Preparation: Inddors or outdoors
How to play: Sit on the floor and straighten out your legs. Put baby on your knees and raise your knees. When you raise your knees, lean your face towards your baby's face and say "Mummy's face is below". Then straighten your knees and say " Mummy's face is above". Repeat the steps a few times.
Daddy's participation: While Mummy is doing the above action, Daddy can stand up when Mummy's knees are up and squat while Mummy's knees are down. When standing up, say "Daddy has grown taller". When squatting down, say "Daddy has shrunk."

Baby Games for 5 months old (Peek-a-boo)

Difficulty: 2/5

Development Goal: Improve baby's understanding towards time, space, people and objects. It also helps to strengthen baby's memory.
Personality Goal: This game tells baby that things that are lost can be recovered. The closeness between you and baby will greatly help baby in facing future pressure.
Preparation: A piece of handkerchief
How to play: Cover your face with the handkerchief and ask baby "Where is mummy?". Then bring down the handkerchief and say "Mummy's here!". Next, block baby's vision with the handkerchief and say "Where is baby?". Then remove the handkerchief and say "Ah, baby's (baby's name) here!".
Daddy's participation: Daddy can hide himself behind a chair or a door and mummy will carry baby to look for daddy. After baby has found daddy, make sure baby see daddy's face. Then kiss baby's cheek as a praise.

Baby Games for 5 months old (Come to Mummy!)

Development Goal: Crawling helps to promote physical growth and development of baby. It trains the back, limbs, and chest and abdomen muscles, promoting the growth of the bone.
Personality Goal: Develops baby's capability of handling emotions. The pressure that baby faces will allow the brain to develop a better control over baby’s emotions.
Preparation: Pillows
How to play: Place the pillows in between you and your baby. Then encourage your baby to move towards you. Give baby a kiss as praise when he reaches you. This gives baby a sense of satisfaction. Both Daddy and Mummy should take turns to allow baby to experience the joy of the game and family well-being.
Daddy's participation: While Mummy is encouraging baby to move towards her, Daddy can help baby by giving baby’s sole a little push.

Baby Games for 5 months old (Dancing Butt)

Development Goal: Squatting and jumping improves baby's sense of balance, preparing for baby's first major milestone: walking
Personality Goal: Playing music in the background while playing this game allows baby to be engaged into the game, thus allowing him to enjoy, have fun and grow!
Preparation: A slightly fast song
How to play: Holding at both baby's armpits while you are seated on a hard surface, allow baby to stand on your thighs. Slighly let loose both hands (as if to let baby fall, he will naturally bend both knees). Repeat a few times.
Daddy's participation: Daddy can do the same movement as baby, engaging baby more into the activity.

Baby Games for 4 month olds (Rolling Apple)

Development Goal: As baby's attention is easiest to be caught by the colour red, using this colour and game trains baby's neck strength, improving baby's coordination skills.
Personality Goal: Interesting and attractive games are key to engaging baby's attention. This game cultivates baby's determination, the ability to take failures and the courage to face difficulties.
Preparation: A clean red apple
How to play: Lay baby face down on the bed, put apple within baby's reach, attracting his attention. Engage baby into touching and playing with the apple. Then, push the apple side to side. Baby will follow the motion as well.
You can also: Use a green and red apple. Alternate between these 2 colours to catch baby's visual attention, allowing his eyes to "chase" for the rolling apple.

Baby Games for 4 month olds (Sawing sits)

Development Goal: Development of the waist at this age is progressing very fast. This game helps train strength of baby's waists and arms.
Personality Goal: When baby begins to learn to use his senses, he sees the world in different angles, tapping on his imagination and creativity.
Preparation: Baby lying down
How to play: Give baby your fingers, he naturally will hold unto them. Use adequate strength to slowly pull baby up and let him down. Repeat 3-4 times. Then gently massage baby's waist and upper arms.
You can also: Mummy holding the baby, Daddy will play this game. Instead of pulling baby up, pull him to the front and back.

Baby Games for 4 month olds (Paper Aeroplane)

Development Goal: The shift of baby's sight along with the paper aeroplane can train his visual sensitivity and develop the knowledge of existence of space.
Personality Goal: Focus is a very important foundation of observational learning. This will help your baby in future to cope with the stress in school.
Preparation: Make a paper aeroplane with bright coloured materials
How to play: When picking up the aeroplane, tell the baby "This is a red aeroplane." Gently throw the aeroplane to catch baby's attention. Ask baby "Where is the red paper aeroplane?" If baby's attention is already on the fallen aeroplane, say "Yes, there it is!". If not, point to the location and say "See! There is the paper aeroplane!" Repeat with planes of other colours.
Daddy’s participation: Place the paper aeroplane on baby's hand and assist to throw the aeroplane. This will engage baby and he will in turn have a deeper impression of the game. Hand-eye coordination is also strengthened.

Baby Games for 4 month olds (Nose Rub)

Development Goal: Letting baby understand the existence of his facial features. Increase bonding between baby and family members.
Personality Goal: Baby will be a more self-confident individual with an amiable personality, gaining popularity and respect amongst his peers in future.
Preparation: Any space
How to play: Hold baby or put baby on bed, eye-to-eye level. After asking baby “Where is your nose?”, gently touch baby’s nose and say “Here is your nose.” Next, ask baby “Where is Mummy’s nose?” and use baby’s finger to gently touch your nose.
Daddy’s participation: As babies are not sensitive to high-pitched voices, Daddy might play a better role in this. Daddy’s low-pitch voice gives baby a feeling of closeness.
